How do i deal with my friend who is kind of bossy and self centerd?

this is an interesting case. i use to know some one just like that. sounds like shes the personification of narcissism. if you dont want to hurt her feelings but let her know shes being a pain will be tricky but not impossible. since i had the same problem i'll tell you what i did. i told her that some one was talking about her being self absorbed because she talks about herself alot. of course she was like no way who said? i replyed by saying im not sure who said it first but alot of others know. i overheard some one talking about you. i felt that it was best for you to know. in a calming way i quickly fallowed up not giving her the chances to have any doubt. i told her you do mention your bf alot and you do talk about how beautiful you are, but dont get me wrong you do look great( gave her some confidants so she wont think im picking on her) however maybe others think that because you talk about it to much. perhaps their even jealous, if i were you i slim down the talking about that often cause you know how people like to gossip about everything and i hate to see other picking on you just because they want a laugh. shes was like oh i see. with that she'll think about how much she has mentioned herself. after that i quickly told her i had to go and i'll see you at lunch. after that she kinda laid off the " oh i did this today and oh and my bf... alot of times when people who act like that are really depressed about something and just need some one to feel in the hole in my opinion. this is a nice way but could back fire if you cannot control the entire situation. if you get to nervous while trying to give her a helpful lie she will know and she will question herself if its you who's talking about her then all shells will break loose. if that doesn't work and she keeps doing the samthing weeks on. just tell her the truth that she being a bore. but do it nicely, one on one with her. that way she wont be embarrassed in a crowd of people cause im sure she'll try and turn the tables and make you look like a fool. well i wish you luck. if nothing works and you guys end up not being friends at least you did all you could to save the friendship between you two. just by asking this question on yahoo.com is good cause your wanting to improve your relationship. good luck.
