How do you keep your cool with bossy people?

I honestly can't cope with control freaks. It's okay IF the control freak is polite, not obnoxious, and does not do it intentionally to boss you around. But if they are going to judge you in a negative way, about how your life should be or how you should live it, is just absolutely unacceptable to me. My step dad is one of the biggest control freaks I've met, and yes he judges everything like he's some all mighty king. He will tell me in a nasty way with cursing to wash the dishes, or to take out the trash, or to help him with something. And yes i throw a attitude because i know i should not be treated that way, ESPECIALLY when i am utterly respectful and loyal to people i know. He will have the nerve to monitor my every situation, for example if i want to go out he will say "Where are you going" and If i say where it is, he is going to have a problem with it unless if its around the house. Another one is he is just very nosy, always, ALWAYS having to know what I'm doing and that's just very rude. He burst into my room and looks around, or if i get something from the store he just has to know what i got. It's like he thinks I'm his daughter but he is not my blood. He's lucky I'm not like one of those bratty Teens/Kids who will fight there parents or argue back.
